Riau Plantation Office Realeases New Palm Oil Fresh Fruit Bunch Prices, Now at IDR 3,278/Kg
PEKANBARU - The price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of palm oil from plasma partnerships in Riau Province has decreased for the period of June 18 to 24, 2025.
The Riau Plantation Office released the updated price, with the highest rate for 9-year-old palm trees set at IDR 3,278.81 per kilogram.
Defris Hatmaja, Head of Processing and Marketing at the Riau Plantation Office, stated on Tuesday (June 17, 2025) that the largest price drop occurred for the 9-year-old tree group, which fell by IDR 33.17 per kilogram or 1.00% compared to the previous period.
“As a result, the purchase price for farmers' FFB is now IDR 3,278.81 per kilogram, with the shell price at IDR 18.50 per kilogram,” said Defris Hatmaja.
He explained that the K index used this period is 92.31% for the upcoming month.
Defris added that this week, the price of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) dropped by IDR 10.04, and the price of palm kernel fell by IDR 107.55 compared to last week.
Regarding how prices are determined, Defris referred to the Indonesian Agriculture Minister’s Regulation Number 01 of 2018, Article 8. The rule states that if a palm oil mill does not make any sales, the CPO and kernel prices used will be based on the team’s average price.
He further explained that if a mill is under "Validation Two," then the average price from KPBN (Indonesian Palm Oil Market Exchange) is used.
“The average CPO price from KPBN for this period is IDR 13,264.50, and the kernel price is still using last period’s rate of IDR 11,160.50,” he said.
According to him, this week’s price decline is mainly due to the drop in CPO and kernel prices.
However, he emphasized that the price-setting process has continued to improve, thanks to the strong cooperation among stakeholders, supported by the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office.
"This joint commitment will eventually help increase farmers' incomes, which leads to better community welfare,” he concluded.
