PEKANBARU - Riau Province Plantation Service announced an increase in the price of freshfruit bunches for plasma partnership palm oil from April 8 to 15, 2025.

Defris Hatmaja, Head of Processing and Marketing at the Riau Plantation Service, claimed that the largest price rise happened in the 9-year-old age group.

"So the purchase price for farmers' fresh fruit bunches rose to IDR 3,741.93/Kg with a shell price of IDR 21.32/Kg,” he said, Wednesday (9/4/2025).

Defris explained that the K index used in this period was 92.09% for the next month.Apart from that, the selling price of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) increased by IDR 13.66 and the kernel price increased significantly by IDR 450.35 compared to last week.

Furthermore, Defris said that several Palm Oil Factories (PKS) were not making sales. In this situation, according to Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 01 of 2018 Article 8, the price of crude palm oil and kernels used is the average price of the team.

If subject to validation 2, the average price of the State Treasury Services Office (KPBN) will be used.

"The average price of KPBN Crude Palm Oil for this period is IDR 15,064.00 and the KPBN kernel price for this period is IDR 13,275.00,” he explained.

According to Dr Defris, the increase in the price of fresh fruit bunches this week was mainly due to the increase in the price of crude palm oil and kernels.

He also emphasized that improving pricing governance is a serious effort from all stakeholders, supported by the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor's Office.

“This joint commitment will ultimately have an impact on increasing farmers' income which will lead to community welfare,” he concluded.
