Riau Plantation Office Releases New Palm Oil Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Prices, Check the Increase Here!
PEKANBARU - The price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) from independent partnerships in Riau Province has increased significantly for the period of June 4–10, 2025.
According to the latest report from the Riau Provincial Plantation Office (Disbun), the highest FFB price has reached Rp3,351.72 per kilogram.
Dr Defris Hatmaja, Head of Processing and Marketing at the Plantation Office, said the biggest price increase happened for 9-year-old palm trees, which rose by Rp3.21/kg or 0.10% from the previous week.
“This means that farmers will receive Rp3,351.72/kg for the next week. The price for palm shell is set at Rp25.67/kg,” said Dr. Defris on Tuesday (June 3, 2025).
For this period, the price calculation used a K index of 92.42% for the next month. Even though the selling price of CPO (Crude Palm Oil) dropped by Rp179.59/kg, the kernel price rose sharply by Rp792.69/kg.
Dr Defris explained that if a palm oil factory doesn’t report its sales, the CPO and kernel prices used will be based on the team’s average, following Regulation No. 01 of 2018, Article 8 from the Ministry of Agriculture.
However, if the prices are affected by second validation, the prices from KPBN (Indonesian Commodity and Derivatives Exchange) will be used.
“For this period, the average CPO price from KPBN is Rp13,206.67/kg, and the kernel price still follows the previous period’s KPBN price of Rp13,988.00/kg,” he added.
This week’s FFB price increase is mostly driven by the rising kernel price. Dr. Defris emphasized that the better price-setting system is the result of serious efforts from all stakeholders, with full support from the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office.
“This joint commitment will surely help increase farmers' income and improve community welfare,” he concluded.
