PEKANBARU - The price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) from independent palm oil farmers in Riau Province has seen a significant increase.
According to data from the Riau Plantation Office for the period of August 6–12 2025, the highest FFB price was recorded for trees aged 9 years, reaching Rp3,533.59 per kilogram.
The price hike was explained by Defris Hatmaja, Head of Processing and Marketing at the Riau Plantation Office.
“The highest increase occurred in the 9-year-old tree group, with a rise of Rp37.29/kg or 1.07% compared to last week,” he said.
Defris stated that this price rise was driven by an increase in CPO (Crude Palm Oil) and Kernel prices. For this period, the purchase price of FFB for farmers rose to Rp3,533.59/kg, with shell prices at Rp24.04/kg.
The data also showed that the K Index used was 91.80%. CP selling prices increased by Rp66.11/kg from the previous week, while Kernel prices rose by Rp494.37/kg.
“The average CPO price at KPBN during this period was Rp14,573.50/kg, and the Kernel price was Rp12,653.00/kg,” he added.
This price increase reflects better price governance, thanks to the commitment of all stakeholders, supported by the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office.
“This joint commitment will ultimately increase farmers’ income and improve community
welfare,” Defris concluded.
