PEKANBARU - The price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from independent palm oil smallholders in Riau has decreased.
According to data from the Riau Plantation Agency (Disbun) for the period of September 3–9, 2025, the highest FFB price is set at Rp3,634 per kilogram.
The biggest drop occurred in the 9-year-old plant group, with a decrease of Rp18.39 per kilogram, or about 0.50% compared to last week.
"As a result, the purchase price of FFB for farmers fell to Rp3,634 per kg, with shell prices at Rp23.13 per kg,” said Defris Hatmaja, Head of Processing and Marketing at Disbun Riau.
He explained that this decline was caused by falling crude palm oil (CPO) and kernel prices. “This week’s price drop is mainly due to lower CPO and kernel prices,” he said.
During this period, the K index used was 93.12%. Meanwhile, the selling price of CPO fell by Rp67.70 per kilogram, and kernel prices dropped by Rp96.26 per kilogram compared to the previous week.
Defris added that better price-setting management is a serious effort from all stakeholders, supported by the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office. This commitment is expected to increase farmers’ income and welfare.
