PEKANBARU – SMK Muhammadiyah 2 (muda) Pekanbaru maintains its status as a top vocational school by forming strategic alliances with numerous business sectors.

One of the most recent moves was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Halloriau.com, a member of the Metro Riau Group, to fund student education and internships.

Paiman Sanen SAg MPdI, the head of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru, emphasized that this partnership is in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Culture's requirements that  schools integrate aspects of an MoU with the business sector in the Basic Education Data.

“This MoU is essential because schools have a duty to utilize fundamental education data, and there must be collaboration with the corporate sector as a location for students to do internships. If not, the student's marks in the system would be denied and not released,” Paiman stated on Monday (10/2/2025).

Furthermore, Paiman explained, this collaboration is also an opportunity for friendship with the business world.

“In the last two weeks, we have established MoUs with around 16 businesses, including Halloriau.com. We hope that this collaboration can run well and be sustainable,” he added.

Meanwhile, Budy Satria, the Chief Editor of Halloriau.com, expressed his appreciation for the trust given to his media by SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru.

“We are very grateful for this collaboration. Aside from news production, we have a creative content team that prioritizes journalistic ethics by hiring brilliant young individuals,” said Budy. This MoU also received a positive response from the Pekanbaru City Muhammadiyah Primary and Secondary Education Council. They hope that this partnership can have a positive impact on both parties.

“It is hoped that this collaboration will bring benefits, not only for students in gaining internship experience, but also for the media in providing information to the public regarding educational developments at this school,” said representatives of Muhammadiyah primary and secondary education.

With this MoU, SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru further strengthens its commitment to producing graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work, as well as building positive synergy between the world of education and industry.
